WEEK 11--Athletes of the Week

During week 11 of the track season the Knights competed against the rest of the league in the MMC Championship. There were several exceptional performances and these two athletes had outstanding days.

ALICIA BARGAS won the F/S 1600m in 6:23.03 and the 800m in 2:51.00.

RICHARD LOPEZ won the VB TJ in a PR, season best 41'8.5" (the #8 mark all-time at Downey). He also placed 6th in the 200m at 24.64 and ran a leg on the 3rd place 4x400 team. That team ran 3:41.79 (which was #12 all-time at Downey).

MMC Championship

Last tuesday the Knights competed in the all-day long MMC Championship meet. With the top 5 athletes earning berths into this week's D1 section meet, he competion was tough and the temperatures were high.

WEEK 10--Atheletes of the Week

During week 10 the Knights took on the Patriots of Beyer.

TRISTAN BEST--had a great meet. He placed 1st in three F/S events: HJ (5'0"), 100m (12.05), and 200m (25.46). he also ran a leg on the winning 4X1 team (47.59).

FALLON FERRIS--placed 1st in the SP (25'5") and 2nd in the discus.

WEEK 6-9--Athletes of the Week

Okay so I am a little behind in recognizing so awesome Downey athletes of the week.

WEEK 6--found the Knights hosting the Spartens of Grace Davis.

MADDIE FINCH, placed 1st in three event is this meet. She won the 100m in 13.37, the LJ in 12'1", and the HJ with a height of 4'1". She also ran a leg on the 4x1 team that ran a season best 55.19.

HERMAN HARRIS,  placed 3rd in the 200m (24.59), 1st in the HJ (5'6") and anchored the 4x1 team to a time of 44.9

WEEK 7--was Spring Break

WEEK 8--was our final home meet of the season, against the Eagles of Enochs.

BRYANNA COTTA, won the 400m and placed third in the HJ and TJ.

JOE CAMP, won the F/S 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and ran a leg on the winning 4x1 team. He also placed 2nd in the HJ.

WEEK 9--the Knights traveled to compete against the Panthers of MoHi.

DEJA MARTIN, won the 100m in 13.65, took 2nd in the 200m and ran a leg on the 4x1 team

AUSTIN HOLT, won the SP with a throw of 43'3"--great effort.
