Stanislaus County Meet

Last Friday the Downey Knight Varsity tracksters took on the rest of the county and held their own.

VARSITY BOYS
The official results say that we finished in 7th place with 37 points ( I add it up to be only 25 points so something is funky about the scores)

Andrew Osgood was the highest placing individual of the day for Downey. He placed second in both the 1600m (4:40.74) and the 3200m (10:20.10). These races earned him two medals.

Denzelle Marable placed 4th in the high jump with a leap of 5’8.” Conner Fenton also jumped 5’8” but placed 7th due to the number of missed jumps.

In the 800m Anthony Garcia placed 4th in his heat and 5th overall in a competitive time of 2:11.16.

In the 200m Ty Cummins placed 6th in 23.91.

Caleb Lowe was also 6th in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.8.

Jacob Hackett placed 6th in a strong 100m field. His time was 11.46.

Although he didn’t place in the top six scoring places, Paul Bilodeau was 10th in the 300m hurdles. His time was 45.07 which places him as #10 all-time at Downey.

VARSITY GIRLS
Officially we placed 7th with 33 points. Again, however I add it up to be 27 points.

Sierra Durham was the top placing Downey female with her 12:10.00  2nd place finish in the 3200m. In the same event Rory Jiminez placed 8th with a time of 12:58.54. This was a 54 second PR for Rory and moved her into 14th all-time at Downey for the 3200m.

In the 1600m Sierra Durham placed 3rd with a time of 5:38.27. This was a PR by over six seconds and earned her a second medal. This time places her as #10 all-time for Downey

Simone Wend had a strong showing across the board in the jumping events. Her leap of 16’5.25” in the long jump was good for 3rd place and moves her into #4 all-time at Downey. She also placed 3rd in the triple jump with a distance of 32’5.75.” This jump moved her to the #6 spot on the all-time Downey list. She topped off the day with an 8th place 4’6” finish in the high jump.

The 4x100 relay team of Simone Wend, Maddie Finch, Felicia Romo, and Micayla Lowe struggled to get the baton around the track yet still managed a 6th place finish with their time of 56.67.

Micayla Lowe placed 7th in the 200m. Her time of 28.31 puts her at #10 on the all-time Downey list.
